US Open Schedule and Ticket Deals

The US Open is back at Flushing Meadows this week, with the first qualifying matches kicking off Monday. The tournament runs through Sept. 6 and 7 with the finals taking place in Arthur Ashe Stadium. Tickets are still available for matches throughout the event, but it’s unlikely you’ll get a seat in the finals for less than $270.

This year, the tournament added a few changes in order to boost fan engagement and allow players more rest between rounds. Most notably, the tournament length was extended to 15 days from 12 (plus two off-site events). The increase in prize money also helped—this year’s total is $90 million, up 20% over last year. Reigning champions Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka should both be in contention, along with top contenders like Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Jakub Mensik.

The tournament is promoting a new $1-million Mixed Doubles prize that should attract more high-profile players. This is the first time a major has introduced this format.

One of the best ways to save money and maximize match availability is to buy a grounds pass for the first week. The passes do not include access to the main stadiums, but they are good for courts in the outer and middle sections of the complex – where many matches will take place. They’re available on the Ticketmaster site and Stubhub resale sites. Be sure to check resale availability daily for the most up-to-date offers (the inventory tends to fluctuate). If you have an Amex card, you can also sign up for a special offer on the Ticketmaster site that gives you access to limited inventory for some sessions.
